NIL stands for “Name, Image and Likeness,” specifically referring to the use of an athlete’s NIL through marketing and promotional endeavors. Student-athletes at NCAA institutions could begin monetizing their NIL beginning July 1, 2021.

Generally, all NIL activities are permitted, as they follow these four guidelines:
There must be quid pro quo attached to an NIL deal, essentially requiring a student-athlete to do an activity in order to receive compensation.
That activity cannot be tied to athletic performance, such as statistical achievements, wins or awards.
That activity cannot be contingent upon the student-athlete committing to the university that the collective supports or tied to enrollment.
Institutions do not provide compensation in exchange for the use of a student-athlete’s NIL.
NCAA rules also require student-athletes to follow their state law or institutional policy if there is no existing state law governing NIL activities.

An NIL activity involves the use of a student-athlete’s name, image or likeness for promotional purposes by a third-party not associated with the NCAA or an NCAA institution. Activities could include:
Social media influencing and other promotions
Personal appearances at businesses, conferences, camps, parties
TV ads, radio ads, print ads
Endorsements of a third-party
Student-athlete-run camps and private lessons
Autographs
Sale of student-athlete-owned apparel and personal items
Student-athlete-run businesses

The Omaha Bull Market works with student-athletes from the University of Nebraska—Omaha (“UNO”). Our goal is that ALL UNO student-athletes will have the opportunity to participate in NIL agreements with the Omaha Bull Market, if they choose to do so.

Maverick student-athletes will receive payments in exchange for performing NIL activities on behalf of the Omaha Bull Market collective. The Omaha Bull Market will fund contracts to promote and support charitable organizations and their fundraising efforts using student-athletes’ NIL. Student-athletes will have the option to participate by supporting charitable organizations or private businesses or both. Each student-athlete will agree to perform a certain amount of NIL activities in exchange for an agreed payment. NIL activities could include appearances, social media posts, autograph signings, camps, clinics and more.
The Omaha Bull Market utilizes Signed Sports Management and its backend systems to provide compliance reporting to the University of Nebraska and the NCAA (if requested), and is used to distribute funds to student-athletes after they have successfully completed their NIL activities.

No. The Omaha Bull Market is a third-party entity that is not affiliated with the University of Nebraska—Omaha and/or the University of Nebraska Foundation. Contributions made to the Omaha Bull Market collective have no affiliation with any charitable donations made to the University of Nebraska Foundation supporting Omaha Athletics.

The Omaha Bull Market is a wholly owned subsidiary of Signed Sports Management, a full-service sports marketing company. The Omaha Bull Market is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of experienced business leaders, as well as owners of Signed Sports Management. Signed Sports Management will run the day-to-day operations of the Omaha Bull Market collective.

No. Our agreements are intentionally non-exclusive to enable student-athletes to continue to build their brand with opportunities outside of the Omaha Bull Market.

No. NIL regulations prohibit this and, the Omaha Bull Market will not meet with, contact, offer a deal, etc. to any prospective student-athlete. Until a student-athlete has signed their NLI and/or the institution has received a deposit of financial aid, they will not be contacted by the Omaha Bull Market.
